Back to Retail/Mixed Use Project List
Downtown Dadeland
Location: Miami, Florida
Client: Gulf Side Development Canyon Johnson Urban Fund, LP
Architect: Spillis Candela
This massive 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use, village within a city spans several city blocks. Logistical concerns were thought out before commencing work in the field. The project's most challenging component was the construction of a two-level, 1,001-space underground garage spanning seven acres 25 feet below the water table. Special attention to safety and coordination was critical due to the project's proximity to Dadeland Mall, a major retail destination, businesses and residential areas.
Project features include:
- Inventive town-center design includes seven unique residential buildings with 416 condominiums and 127,000 square feet of retail space
- Residential units include landscaped interior courtyards, a rooftop pools and fitness centers; and 24-hours security
- Commercial components include boutique shops, restaurants, and select commercial services
