Moss Foundation Raises Over $200,000 for South Florida Non-profits During 4th Annual Charitable Golf Tournament
FORT LAUDERDALE – On Dec. 4, the Moss Foundation raised more than $200,000 during the organization’s 4th annual charitable golf tournament, the Plumb Bob Classic, which took place at the Weston Hills Country Club in Fort Lauderdale.
At the event, Chad Moss of the Moss Foundation presented three non-profit organizations, Wounded Warrior Outdoors, HANDY and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County each with $25,000 checks.
“We are thrilled to be one of the fortunate beneficiaries of this wonderful golf tournament,” said Jordan Marra, senior development manager of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. “The funds will be used to support our Hunger Relief Program, which provides more than 400,000 meals annually to thousands of disadvantaged local youth.”
The remaining funds that were raised through the golf tournament will be donated to several South Florida charities throughout 2018.
The event’s title partner was Lotspeich Company of Florida. Additionally, over 60 corporate partners including, Bacardi USA Inc. sponsored the event through in-kind services.
Due to the overwhelming success of the tournament from previous years, this year’s attendance doubled in size. The tournament attracted more than 270 golfers who played on two separate courses. The winning teams, representing B&B Contracting on the Players Course and Cemex South Florida on the Tour Course.
“We are delighted that through the participation of so many people and the strong support of our sponsors, the foundation is able to support a variety of initiatives throughout the community,” said Chad Moss, president of the Moss Foundation. “It is humbling to have been entrusted with the support of the golfers, sponsors and volunteers, who all contributed to make of this event a success, we know these funds will make a difference in our community.”
