O’hana Family Housing Achieves Critical Milestone on Sixth Phase of Construction
Marine Corps Base Hawaii – O’hana Family Housing, a Hunt Companies military housing community, is excited to announce it has finished pouring the last concrete foundation pad on the sixth phase of development. The sixth phase includes 260 new military housing units located on eight sites throughout the Marine base. The vertical construction was completed by Moss a national construction management firm.
The project, which began in August 2016, will take a total of 18 months to complete putting final unit turnover in January 2018. The open floorplan three and four bedroom units include amenities such as: luxury vinyl plank flooring, solid surface countertops, front and rear covered lanais, ample storage, and energy efficient design achieving Energy Star Certification.
“We are very excited to have reached this critical milestone on Phase 6 of O’hana Family Housing,” stated Doug Rogers, Vice President of Moss. “These new homes demonstrate our commitment to not only our service members and their families, but to Hawai’i as a whole. The project creates jobs and continues to put money back into the local economy, and we are happy that this sixth phase is only six months from completion.”
The construction team will host a “Topping Out” ceremony to commemorate the project’s achievement of the critical milestone on August 8, 2017 beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Malabey Street in the Hana Like neighborhood. Lunch will be served and attendees will have an opportunity to tour the new neighborhood.
