Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Expansion and Parking Garage
The phrase “time is money” has never been more accurate then when building this casino project. The Moss team, in conjunction with joint venture partner Roy Anderson Corporation, worked around the clock to add approximately 1.3 million square feet to the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino in less than nine months. The project involved adding 50,000 square feet of gaming floor while simultaneously renovating the existing 40,000-square-foot gaming floor and relocating and reconfiguring both cage and gaming positions, while minimizing the impact on gaming operations. The project presented unique permitting challenges, as it is located both on sovereign Seminole land and Seminole-owned off-trust land within the City of Coconut Creek. As both tribal and city building departments oversaw construction, this fast-track project required extensive coordination with both entities. Aligning this project with the City of Coconut Creek’s overall environmental consciousness and certification as a Community Wildlife Habitat, the new seven-level precast parking structure was designed to attain LEED® Silver Certification.
The design integrated green technologies such a rainwater collection systems coupled to a bio-filtration system, a rooftop PV Panel Array linked to electric car charging stations and modular planting trellis systems designed to both visually enhance the garage and benefit the environment.
