U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, Multiple Projects
As construction manager, Moss completed buildings to serve as U.S. Citizenship & Immigration centers across five locations in South Florida. Each facility is a LEED® Silver certified building constructed to Category 5 hurricane standards and includes a host of energy features such as extensive perimeter windows with overhanging louvers and sunshade panels to prevent excessive solar gain. Designed to provide a secure environment for employees and visitors while maintaining an inviting image, security for each building has been integrated into the site design with a combination of seat wall, concrete planters and other landscape features.
Each Project Features:
- Visitor parking near the entrance with a 210-326-vehicle and/or 167-vehicle parking deck
- A 25-foot etched-in-glass image of the Statue of Liberty
- An entry rotunda conceptually linked to the prominence of the US Capitol rotunda and grand entry doors
- A one-and-a-half story lobby
Broward County Office Center
Designed to create a “welcoming gateway,” this single-story facility houses the information and adjudication offices and the USCIS’s application support center. As construction manager, Moss completed the building as a LEED® Silver certified structure resistant to a Category 5 hurricane. Energy-saving features include perimeter windows with overhanging louvers and sunshade panels to prevent excessive solar gain. Security for employees and visitors has been integrated into the site design, which also maintains an inviting image. A seat wall, concrete planters, and other landscape elements provide security setbacks while providing the public with an an open and welcoming environment.
Central Miami Office Center Moss
completed this two-story building comprising U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ headquarters for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The largest of five total projects for the agency, this facility was completed as a LEED® Silver certified building with tilt panel construction of precast concrete panels and glass. Energy-saving features included extensive perimeter windows with overhanging sunscreen devices and screening panels to prevent excessive solar gain. Security for employees and visitors has been integrated into the site design, which also maintains an inviting image thanks to a combination of seat wall, concrete planters, and other landscape features.
Hialeah Office Center
As construction manager, Moss completed this 38,500-square-foot, Category 5 hurricane-resistant, single-story building to LEED® Silver certification standards. Energy-saving features include extensive perimeter windows with overhanging louvers and sunshade panels to prevent excessive solar gain. The facility balances security and an inviting atmosphere with a combination of seat wall, concrete planters, and other landscape elements.
Kendall Field Office Center
As construction manager, Moss completed this 47,000-square-foot single-story building to serve U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services in Kendall, a western suburb of Miami-Dade County. This LEED® Silver certified building was constructed to Category 5 hurricane standards and includes a host of energy features. It is protected from the sun by extensive perimeter windows with overhanging louvers and sunshade panels. Its combination of seat wall, concrete planters, and other landscape elements enhances security while providing an open and welcoming atmosphere.
West Palm Beach Office Center
The single-story facility was completed as LEED® Silver certified building and is built to resist a Category 5 hurricane. Like its sister projects, it include numerous energy-saving features, such as extensive perimeter windows with overhanging louvers and sunshade panels, and security setbacks and landscape elements to balance security and an open and welcoming environment.
